Navajo Look
The sun is shining and it’s time to get thinking about what to wear for all the holidays, festivals and fun-filled bank holiday weekends we have to look forward to…and if there’s one trend that is perfect for all three this summer, it would have to be the new take on tribal/Navajo styling.
First seen on the runways at Gucci, Ralph Lauren and Just Cavalli, this look has now passed down to the high street where shops are full of crochet, fringing and feathers.
This is a look that I’ve avoided in the past as I think if it’s over done you can run the risk of looking like you’re in fancy dress (Pocahontas, anyone?), but this year the tribal look seems a lot softer, and almost glamorous.
While I’m unfortunately not heading to any festivals this summer, I can see me incorporating some of the Navajo influences into my summer wardrobe – the neutral shades of tobacco, camel and tan are the perfect antidote to summer’s brights and colour blocking!

Keep it cute – One thing to remember when purchasing fashion jewellery for the beach is to keep it simple. A relaxed day time look requires very different jewellery to that worn on a night time.
